Summer 2015 Concert

Our Summer 2015 concert features the well-known violin solist and SBS's patron, Michael Bochmann in Beethoven's Violin Concerto.

The concert also features the ever-popular fifth symphony by Tchaikovsky, and is started with a youthful piece by Shostakovich written when the composer was just 13.

The concert will take place at 7.30pm on 18th July 2015, in the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre, King Edwards School, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2UA. The programme is:

Shostakovich: Scherzo for orchestra in F sharp minor
Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D major (soloist Michael Bochmann)
Tchaikovsky: Symphony number 5 in E minor

Conductor: Lee Differ

Tickets are £12 for an adult, and just £1 for accompanied children (up to 15 years). Profits are donated to St Mary's Hospice. Full details are below or on the printable leaflet.

To buy tickets and book seats

When booking is opened for the concert you are interested in, follow one of the following.

Online. The procedure to book your seats online is as follows.

Go to the Ruddock Performing Arts Centre box office: http://tickets.ruddockpac.co.uk/Sales
Select the South Birmingham Sinfonia event from the Events page.
Follow the procedure to select and purchase your tickets and choose your seats on the electronic plan.
Continue to checkout. Payment by card. If you have not used the site before, you will be prompted to register your email address to which tickets will be sent. Print tickets and bring to concert.

Box office. You can purchase tickets in person or reserve tickets over the phone.

Access and Parking

The map below shows access on the day of the concert and parking. Please note:

Car access is via Bristol Road only - Park Vale Drive Entrance. From Selly Oak, after traffic lights, take first left turn after passing the central reservation crossing. From City Centre, cross central reservation (where Eastern Rd is on left), then take first left.

The car park is on the Parade Ground, labelled PG on the map, at the rear of the Centre. If you need parking for the disabled, a few spaces are available next to the Centre, also at the rear.
